Carter Smith Proposed Workshop Schedule for 2008:

Once the workshops are filled they will be confirmed and participants will
be notified. It takes a minimum of 3 to fill a workshop and a maximum of
4, or three singles and one couple (5). All workshops are held at Carter's
new dye studio in Nahant Massachusettes.

(only one of the two dates above dates will take place)
October 25th and 26th
November 8th and 9th

The price for the 2 day workshop for each person is $2,000.00 and
includes pick up at Boston Logan Airport on Friday afternoon (preferably
between 1:00pm and 4:00pm)the day before the Workshop begins, and drop off
back at Logan on Monday morning, the day after the workshop. The price
also includes all materials, all meals (Dinner Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, Lunch Saturday and Sunday, and Breakfast Saturday, Sunday and
Monday mornings. Also included are on site lodging with private room and
bath for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
All participants need to provive is clothing suitable for dyeing, and aprons
if possible. We will supply gloves.
We will cover discharge dyeing, layer dyeing and color setting methods,
pole wrap dyeing using our own arashi shibori machine and different dyeing
techniques, twist dyeing, fold dyeing, pole dyeing, some clamp dyeing and
possibly something new and never done before.
